Our School
Advent Preschool + Childcare, a ministry of Advent Lutheran Church, has been serving families in West Chester for nearly 50 years! Our preschool program, for children ages 2 ½-5, runs from September to May. You can choose half day, which is 9 a.m.-noon or full day from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. When combined with our before and after care program, we can provide full day care for children 3 and older from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Featuring a great combination of learning and playing, our curriculum focuses on preparing students for Kindergarten and beyond. Our caring, dedicated teachers provide fun hands-on activities to help your child learn and grow. Parents are kept informed of these activities through e-mails and monthly newsletters. With fun weekly themes and special events, Advent is sure to be a preschool you and your child will love!
In response to the love of Jesus, our mission is to provide a high quality education that gives young children the knowledge and wisdom to pursue future educational and vocational opportunities in God’s good creation. We value and celebrate the uniqueness of each child, taking pride in the diversity and inclusiveness of our school.
Each of our spacious classrooms has a block center, a library area and a dramatic play section. Toys are rotated on a monthly basis. Our class sizes are small so our teachers and aides can work one on one with your child.
Children enjoy a separate room for snack, lunch and class holiday parties, such as Halloween, Thanksgiving, Valentine’s Day and Easter.
Children have the opportunity to get plenty of outdoor exercise while playing in our fenced-in playground. They can swing, climb, slide and ride on our durable playground equipment. When the weather is too wet or cold, our spacious gym becomes a busy, happy place for indoor activities. Children enjoy classics, such as “Duck, Duck, Goose,” “What Time Is It Mr. Fox?” and parachute games, as well as balls, scooters and more.
Pastor Chris reads stories from the children’s Bible, sings songs and prays with the children during Chapel Chat on a monthly basis.
