Advent Preschool + Childcare
Classes
3 Year Old Class
• Meets Monday, Wednesday and Friday or Monday through Friday.
• Children must be 3 years old by September 1st.
• Children must be toilet trained.
In our 3-year-old class, students become familiar with our preschool routines and focus on socialization. Additionally, gross and fine motor skills are developed through games and hands-on activities, such as Play-Doh and peg boards. Students learn to recognize their name in print, begin to write their name, work on scissor skills and more. Concepts such as uppercase letters and letter sounds, colors, shapes, sorting, numbers 1-10 and other academics are introduced. Learning objectives are met and introduced according to the child’s stage of development.
4 Year Old Class
• Meets Monday through Friday.
• Children must turn 4 by September 1st.
This program is intended for children entering Kindergarten the following year with at least one year of preschool or at-home learning experience. Through teacher-led and independent centers, students are introduced to upper and lowercase letters and letter sounds, rhyming, shapes, sorting, numbers 1-20 and other academics. The emphasis is on Kindergarten readiness in a developmentally-appropriate manner.
Pre-K Class
• Meets Monday through Friday.
• Children must be 4 years old, turning 5 by January. 31st.
This program is intended for children with one or two years of preschool experience or for children who are not quite ready for Kindergarten. Children enrolled in this program must be entering Kindergarten the following school year. Through teacher-led and independent centers, students are introduced to upper and lowercase letters and letter sounds, rhyming, sight words, shapes, sorting, numbers 1-20 and other academics. The emphasis is on Kindergarten readiness in a developmentally-appropriate manner.
