
Advent Preschool + Childcare
Classes
3 Year Old Class
• Children must be 3 years old by December 31st.
• Children must be toilet independant.
In our 3-year-old class, students become familiar with our preschool routines and focus on socialization. Additionally, gross and fine motor skills are developed through games and hands-on activities, such as Play-Doh and peg boards. Students learn to recognize their name in print, begin to write their name, work on scissor skills and more. Concepts such as letters and letter sounds, colors, shapes, sorting, numbers 1-10 and other academics are introduced. Learning objectives are met and introduced according to the child’s stage of development.
Pre-K 4’s
• Meets Monday through Friday.
• Children must turn 4 by September 1st.
This program is intended for children preparing for Kindergarten the following year with at least one year of preschool or at-home learning experience, although not all students will meet the age requirement for Kindergarten. Through teacher-led and independent centers, students learn upper and lowercase letters and letter sounds through Fundations, rhyming, shapes, sorting, numbers 1-20, and other academics. There is an emphasis on Kindergarten readiness in a developmentally appropriate manner including verbal self advocacy and completing independent self care tasks such as opening snacks and refilling water bottles.
Pre-K 5’s
• Meets Monday through Friday.
This program is intended for children with one or two years of preschool experience or children who do not meet the age requirements for kindergarten. Children enrolled in this program must be entering kindergarten the following school year. Through teacher-led and independent centers, students gain proficiency with upper and lowercase letters and letter sounds through Fundations curriculum, rhyming, introduction to sight/ heart words, shapes, sorting, numbers 1-20, and other academics. There is an emphasis on kindergarten readiness in a developmentally appropriate manner.
